NEW DENTAL PATIENTS: WHAT TO EXPECT

Experience Dental Care the Way It Was Meant to Be

One of the ways our Chapel Hill dental practice is much different than the traditional dental office is the way we approach new patient visits. At Integrative Holistic Dentistry, our dental team members want to educate and treat patients who are seeking health and wellness.

Our dental professionals strive to provide the highest quality dental care in Chapel Hill by spending time and establishing relationships with patients. We build trust and gather data during your appointments. We want to understand why new patients are visiting the office and how to cater to your specific dental problems and oral needs. We hope to establish a long-term relationship with each patient.

Our new patient dental exams are catered to fit each individual patient’s goals, needs, and concerns. Patients will speak with our New Patient Coordinator, who will determine which type of new patient appointment best fits your needs.

Please feel free to reach out to us today to schedule your new patient appointment. We look forward to seeing you and helping you achieve your oral health goals!

New Patient Appointments

Our holistic practice offers the following new patient appointments:

Full New Patient Experience - Approximately 2 hours

This full-service dental appointment includes:

  1. Interview and examination: Our dental staff will meet with you to discuss dental history, chief concerns, and goals. This time is dedicated to you (the dentist will not see any other patients during this time).

  2. Patient education on holistic dentistry and dental disease.

  3. Digital dental X-rays, which include bitewing X-rays, periapical (PA) X-rays that focus on areas of concern, and a Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Systems (CBCT) scan.

  4. Baseline screenings: This service includes a head/neck cancer screening, a periodontal gum exam, pictures of each of your teeth, a saliva test analysis, a sleep assessment that helps identify potential sleep disorder breathing issues, and a review of the images.

After the interview and examination visit, our team will develop and discuss a dental treatment plan with you.  We want to involve you in this process as much as possible.  For patients with more extensive oral needs, it may take slightly longer to establish a treatment plan.

Limited Exam - 1 hour

Limited examinations are reserved for patients who are experiencing a dental emergency. Our goal is to treat the emergency and care for the patient’s immediate needs. After that limited exam, we will invite the patient back for the complete new patient exam. This allows patients to establish themselves as comprehensive dental patients.
